Hey it’s Addie Norman, one of your Dance Action Co-Media directors. I am a senior BFA Dance and Exercise Science double major.

At the beginning of the summer I traveled a little. I went on a weeklong road trip through Colorado and Wyoming to San Francisco. Along the way I went to my first wedding in the Grand Tetons.

Right now I have the pleasure of attending American Dance Festival in Durham, North Carolina. I’m here with four other UT students and graduates. I am about to finish the fourth full week, and I’m so full. I’m taking Afro-fusion, partnering/contact improvisation, and class where we have a new choreographer introduce us to their process. On our “off” days, we can choose from a variety of classes and workshops. I am also creating a duet with a friend from class. ADF has surrounded me with dance in many forms. Each week I’ve seen at least two dance companies, large and small, perform. I’ve had important conversations and experiences that have informed how I want to make space for myself and others through dance.

My days consist of sweating in the NC humidity, eating, and homework. Because of the double major grind, I am taking online physics and lab. To cool off at the end of the day, my go to is some ICE CREAM!!!
