Hey!! My name is Tori Loper, and I am a third year BFA UTeach Dance Major and Business minor. This upcoming year, I am serving as the Internal Relations Coordinator for Dance Action. This Summer has been full of so many fun adventures, quality time with family, friends, and my dogs (haha), and of course, lots of dancing!

Between the trips to the lake, swims with my dogs, and the abundance of queso and breakfast tacos eaten, I spent a lot of the beginning of my Summer choreographing and teaching various high schools. With the company, Encore Creative Productions, I have the opportunity to set dances and work an officer camp for high school drill teams from all across Texas.

Currently, I am going into my last week out of five of living the dream in New York City. I attended the Dance Education Laboratory as an Arnhold Summer Fellow along with fellow UT dance majors/alumni Abby Loper, Claire Wood, Mackenzie Lawrence, and Ivana Casteneda. Through this program, we learned various pedagogical skills from many successful and knowledgeable NYC dance educators. Along with DEL, I spent a lot of time training at various dance studios, such as Broadway Dance Center, Peridance Capezio Center, and Gibney, to continue my growth as a mover. Outside of dancing, I got to explore so much of New York City, saw the Broadway Musical Tootsie, went to a Yankees game, drank lots of iced coffee and ate too many bagels to count.

Overall, I have had the most amazing Summer and although I am sad to leave NYC, I cannot wait to see all my fellow dance actioners in the fall. So so excited to see what this year has in store!
